My iPhone 4 is jailbroken on 5.1.1. I have cydia, I have Winterboard but I can't for the life of me find a cydia app that allows me to change the background on my texts. I don't mean the bubble color, I've got that down, I mean the grayish white background to a different color or picture. Is there a cydia app to do so? Or is it just through themes? I know it's possible. I've seen it. If you know one, please tell me the name and source! Preferably cracked or free. 

SMSEnhancer is a Cydia tweak that enhances your Messaging experience by adding pictures to your contacts and timestamps to all incoming/outgoing SMS. The native Messaging app does not show the avatars of the participants and also the timestamps are visible only after specific intervals, which is useless incase you need the time for a particular message.

SMSEnhancer automatically adds and displays picture avatar inside the Messaging App from your iPhone contacts, if it does not find a picture in your Contacts, a default picture is used which can be set in the options.

Make sure you have internet conectivity.

Launch Cydia and go to the Sources section.

In the upper right corner, click Edit, then add (in the upper left corner).

In the screen that appears enter http://apptapp.thebigboss.org/repofiles/installer4/

Click Done, then Refresh.

The iPhone's native operating system does not allow you to change the background of the Messages application to a picture. However, with a jailbroken iPhone, you can download and install the Desktop/Background SMS application from Cydia. This free application allows you to change the background image of the Messages application to a picture. However, be aware that jailbreaking your device will void the terms of Apple's iPhone warranty.

Tap the "Cydia" icon.

Tap the "Search" option.

Enter "Desktop/SMS Background" in the search bar.

Select the "Camera Roll" option and select the picture you want to use as the background of the Messages application.

Press the "SMS" button to set the picture as the background of your iPhone's Messages application.
